We are the Champions!

YES YES YESSSS!!! We did it! We finally won the coveted Cricket World Cup! Aaaaaaaaahh the feeling of euphoria.. What can I say what the others yet haven't about the Cricket mania. The cup which has been eluding us since 1987 is finally ours!! A dream which 1.21 billion Indians had seen finally came true on 2nd April,2010, a date which will be written in golden words in the history of not just India but also the cricketing world. The legendary Sachin finally saw his dream coming true, that too, at his homeground. Even though he missed out on the ton of tons but hey that's ok. His bigger wish came true that night. & Oh that look on Sachin's face. The victory lap by his teammates. Now even I can tell my kids about our World Cup win just like my folks did till now. The celebrations in India is not going to stop for a while it seems. & who's complaining!! I can't seem to stop smiling. Dhoni & Co., take a bow ;)

I Gotta Feeling!

I have never been one of those die-hard romantics. Not that I've never been in love (but more of that in some other post.) I throw a fit when friends drag me to mushy movies. While my pals sob inconsolably i can't stop giggling at the sheer melodrama that's called bollywood romance. Then my best friend gave me The Notebook. (For those who don't know, 'The Notebook' is a romantic novel written by Nicholas Sparks.) & I just fell in love with the concept of being in love. The Notebook is story of a man's undying love for his Alzheimer stricken wife who has no memory of her husband. Just imagine something like that. Loving a person who doesn't remember you at all. (& NO the novel is not a romcom like 50 first dates) Its about how two totally different people come together in spite of coming from two totally different worlds. The story is poignantly poetic. For me, it opened up a whole new perspective towards love & loving someone with all your heart & soul. Here are some excerpts from the book:

"I am nothing special; of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thought, & I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.". - Noah

"You are the answer to every prayer I've offered. You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I dont  know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have. I love you Allie, more than you can ever imagine. I always have, and I always will." -Noah

I can read this book everyday & still not get enough of it. It just pierces a hole in my heart everytime I read it. Its a tale of love & miracle & how you have to believe in both for them to happen. The Notebook tugs your heartstrings & even the most cynical of a person won't be able to stop herself/himself from shedding atleast a tear.I must say Nicholas Sparks is one of the most gifted writer I've come across. His characters are ordinary people who have extra-ordinary love stories. It has made me believe that love can happen to anyone irrespective of their age, background, differences & situations. It can happen at the most unexpected time of your life & with the most unexpected person. Sparks has taught me how loving someone wholeheartedly can never turn into a bitter feeling of resentment.

Sparks' novels have made such an impact on me about love & relation that I hope someday I get to experience it. & also be the one who loves without any expectations. Because love is something that goes beyond all boundaries.

I will end by thanking my BFF Bijal for introducing me to Nicholas Sparks & always encouraging me to believe in love (even when I was laughing at her face for it). Love you girl. You're truly my bestest! :-*

Tell me which is your favorite Nicholas Sparks novel or any other story that has touched your life. Would love to hear your ideas about love or maybe your love stories ^_^

The Game is On

Soooooo stage for The World Cup Cricket is set. & "I'm excited" will be the understatement of the year!! Cricket mania has gripped the entire nation & I'm not spared either. For the next month & a half I'll be living & breathing cricket. India is entering the tournament as a favorite by popular choice *woohoo* After the oh so dismal performance in the 2007 edition, its got a fresh new brigade ready to take on the challenge & I'm sure they won't disappoint. The best part is India is going to host a big chunk of matches *woohoo again* :D So the excitement increases manifold & I'm dizzy with happiness *heart beats faster* (Ok,calm down Raey)

Now I'm just gonna hope for the best performance ever by the Men in blue *looks above & gives a long hard stare* (They better do God or else...Grrrrr!!)

So if you're even half as excited as I am do give a shout out for Team India in the comments section :)

Sunset Boulevard

Hey All!!

Hows it going with everyone? I have been MIA (missing in action that is) due to my exams which now seem to go on for eternity. Cant wait for them to be over so that I can Go SHOPPING (I'm in dire need of clothes!! Hell when am I not! Thats a different story.) Also i missed the Kala Ghoda Art Festival *sob sob*  STUPID EXAMS again! Anyhoo enough with the whining. I finally went on my maiden trip to Pune..YAY!! I was there for the 2nd round of my MBA entrance (Yes I'm an MBA aspirant, did I never mention that?) The city is just absolutely beautiful & so diverse. The main city is so vibrant that you will never even a moment of boredom! The outskirts of Pune is equally amazing. The picturesque landscape will just take your breath away. I saw the most beautiful sunset of my life. The campus of the institute I wanna get into is simply superb! Now I so badly hope to get through!! & the best part is I didn't get homesick at all while I was there. All because its so similar to Mumbai. Can't wait to go back again! Keeping fingers crossed :)

Hope & Faith

Its been a crazy couple of weeks!! Results, admissions anxiety, wedding season!! PHEW! A gazillion different things are happening around me..& all at the same time. The year has begun on a promising note & I hope it continues..! :) Things are finally looking good after a not so happening 2010. 2011 is so going to be my year fellas!! ;) Finally I'm leaving the baggage behind & moving towards a new horizon. Just when you think that things are never going to get better, a ray of sunshine just pierces through the blanket of darkness & lights up your life! What certain events have taught me is that Never Give Up because Happiness is just right around the corner & as someone rightly said that whatever happens..happens for the best! You might not realize it now..but eventually you will know that God has the best plans for you. All you need to do is never let your faith in him wander. Like Martin Luther said "All who call on God in true faith, earnestly from the heart, will certainly be heard, and will receive what they have asked and desired." & he couldn't be more right!! :)

P.S. Thanks JJ for inspiring me to write my first post of 2011. You're truly one of my bestest friends!! :)
